Taste of Art: Reinventing Fiber Arts

This event is no longer on sale.

Thursday October 15

6:00 PM  –  8:00 PM

Fiber art has endured through the centuries, consistently reinventing itself in both medium and technique. Using a variety of soft materials, come intertwine and intersperse fibers to create three-dimensional works of art. Be inspired by artists such as Ruth Asawa, Nick Cave, Magdalena Abakanowicz, and El Anatsui who weave, knit, stitch, and sew your creations. In association with OMA’s exhibition Southern California Contemporary Quilts, join Robin Douglas for a brief lecture followed by a hands-on workshop where we will develop fibrous and textural creations. All supplies for your original artwork will be provided.

Limited space is available. This event will be held onsite at OMA in compliance with CDC, state, and county guidelines. Sanctioned social distancing will be followed and masks that cover both the nose and mouth are required to be worn at all times.
